Focus on Your Health

This is the first blog post this month, so happy New Year everyone

It is a new year and I bet most people have resolutions to live up to this year. One of the most common New Year’s resolution is to keep fit or lose weight. Gyms and recreation centers have many subscriptions this month, which is definitely good for both the subscribers and trainers.

Here is a guide to get you started.

1.)Start now

Do not wait for Monday or the weekend or for something to happen. Start now.

2.)Have a plan

Bring your plan with you. What are you doing at what time?

3.)Write your plan down

Make sure you have your focus right by putting your plan on most of your visible points. For example; your phone, fridge

4.)Take baby steps

Start slow and as you proceed put in more effort day after day. You do not expect to lose over 20 kilos in a day. Keep the ball rolling and do not give up.

5.)Consistency

Once you start, you have some withdrawal symptoms from the healthy foods and exercise. Keep moving forward and don’t give up.

6.)Fuel up

On eating foods, does eating less really make your stomach shrink?

Yes, your stomach can shrink. The stomach muscular is rubber-like and is able to stretch as Dr. Nitin Kumar.

However, this does not mean that you should skip meals but eat the right portions. Skipping meals will lead to weight gain rather than weight loss.

I wish you well.

Namaste.

A Dose of Goodness

In many occasions, things happen against what we expected. Our attitude towards these situation may vary.
Research shows that majority of humans view the negative perspective. this perspective blocks the possibility of us seeing the positive side of the situation. And that is where the problems begin.
Turning the perspective all around is not the easiest. But with patience and focus on the positive perspective, it is possible.
The positive thought will change your perspective of life.

Live Your Dream

Follow your passion. The sky is the limit. The only limitation you have to your dreams is yourself.

There is nothing wrong with following one’s passion. Everyone needs a passion.  But we live in a world constantly in flux with circumstances we often cannot control.  It is when people conflate passion with purpose that they end up in a situation like my friend. We should live each day with a purpose – doing the best job possible within our human power.  A person who lives with a purpose does not live in a fantasy world.  They have aspirations, but they take concrete steps each day to realose tehir pasion.That is really living a life with a purpose. i would like to sign off with aquote;

Thanksgiving 2016

It is that time of the year again. I have already begun this season of thanksgiving on a different note. Though I don’t live in the US, my family and I still celebrate it.

Yesterday my work day was outdoors. It was chilly and a bit of rain now and then. That is custom weather around November and December in Nairobi, Kenya. While at work, I reflect on the Thanksgiving and took note of this beautiful flower. Springing out of the bud to the beautiful flawless petals. It must be happy. Enjoying the beautiful sunshine. Like the flower, I am grateful to God, my family, friends and to all that I have met on the ‘blogsphere’.

I pray for peace and good health for all of you.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Through the Cracks

I don’t write poems, neither have I done any. I was looking back at how my week has beenand this came up in my mind.

closeup

She opens her eyes,
All she saw was the  screaming dark black
She gusped for air, the cold air
Panick mode was on,
Her heartbeat ran away from the darkness,
It was over,  no where to go or hide.
then,
Little cracks and  the light comes in,
Dawn has come.

I would like to end the post with a quote:

Sometimes when you’re in a dark place you think you’ve been buried. but actually you been planted. by Christine Caine

I hope you enjoyed the poem.

On your Feet

falling-leaves

Life is too short to be unhappy. Focus on the positive things of life. Take baby steps towards your dream. Some steps may make you fall to your feet; this does not mean that you stay on the ground and gave up. Get up, dust yourself and make a step forward. everyday is a day to change, make use of it and be happy.

You either stay on the ground  or get up and move. I will end this post with a quote:

“Life is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance, you must keep moving.” – Albert Einstein

2016 Elections; The Aftermath

The elections are over, the president is known. Now what’s next; is the question.

Many are worried about what tomorrow holds with the new regime and the results that are yet to come. One thing that is clear is that things don’t always have to turnout the way we want or expect them to.
Here are some things to take home;

  • The anxiety will pass
  • There is always something good in the oven.
  • And lastly, life is too short to be worried of things you have no control over.
  • Instead of worrying; spend some time in making some adjustments and be happy.

Stop beating your self about the past and ask yourself what I am learning?

Life is a journey, and learning is a journey of life. therefore, life is a journey. Enjoy the journey and not the destination.

Work in Progress

Hello Everyone,

It has  been a year and a couple of months into blogging. Being sort of a ‘newbie’, I have had to learn lots of stuff here and there. It has been a journey of ups and downs. And in this journey I am glad that my posts have touched many and many have also enjoyed. I would also like to appreciate all people who have taken time to advise me on some stuff: both on blogging and living life.

My eyes are on the journey; to enjoy and learn. I am Unfinished I am work in progress.I am glad that my voice matters. Before I say goodbye, here is a quote:

“I’m inspired by so many blogs and the people behind them. I now have a voice.” — Annette’s Place
