It is that time of the year again. I have already begun this season of thanksgiving on a different note. Though I don’t live in the US, my family and I still celebrate it.
Yesterday my work day was outdoors. It was chilly and a bit of rain now and then. That is custom weather around November and December in Nairobi, Kenya. While at work, I reflect on the Thanksgiving and took note of this beautiful flower. Springing out of the bud to the beautiful flawless petals. It must be happy. Enjoying the beautiful sunshine. Like the flower, I am grateful to God, my family, friends and to all that I have met on the ‘blogsphere’.
I pray for peace and good health for all of you.
Many at times we are caught up in hurricanes of life.this does not mean tha life has to
always be like that. Take a Break, and relax.
Here are few tips that are suitable to calm your nerves down.
- Turn up the music
- Pick a good book and follow the story
- Get a buddy and spend some time together
- Talk to your family. East or west, home is best
- Outdoor is the fresh air and beautiful landscapes. Visit new places
- As you socialize, remember to capture to the memories.
- Always remember to SMILE.
- Keep the past where it belongs, that is why it’s called PAST.

Daily prompt word – Hike
I checked out today at the Daily Post and came across the Daily Prompts. Today’s prompt is Slog and here is a new post in response to the one-word prompt. Being a newbie to the site, I am not sure how to participate, but I will give it a try.
Slogging is a result of a pressurized work environment that one feels. You may work well under certain levels of pressure but once it goes beyond you, it becomes fatal. You may end up suffering unhealthy eating habits.
If you are one of the many busy people and find it hard to stay healthy, here’s some advice for you.
Have a bottle of water at your desk filled with water. Alternatively have a glass of water which you can sip from time to time.
- Get a Plan and Stay organized
Plan you work in advance. You may consider creating a list of items you need to get done and allocate adequate time for each task. This way, you get work done with minimal pressure.
If you fail to plan, you plan to fail.
If your job involves a lot of sitting , get up and get yourself a glass of water from the water dispenser. This facilitates blood circulation and releases the tension on your back and leg muscles.
It is easier to order food and have it delivered at your desk or office. However, it is better when you pack your own lunch. I know it is hectic since you have to get up early or stay up late preparing for your lunch, but it can be easier. You may opt to prepare the food before the week starts, probably on Sunday.
Lastly, take so time off and take a walk around.I prefer taking afternoon walks. The strolls should not be too far and time consuming, remember you still have work to do. This will keep you active and refreshed.

Today is Mandela day. 18th July in 2010 was declared as ‘Mandela day” by the United Nations. This day was set aside to commemorate the life of Nelson Mandela which was his actual birthday. Today we celebrate his 94th birthday. In addition to celebrating his life, it is also important to note that each individual has the power to transform the world.

Father’s day is coming up, Whoop Whoop!
The date is differently celebrated across the globe. People take this day to celebrate and honor their fathers, express their love and appreciation. Nowadays, people celebrate their fathers in law, grandpas, step fathers and even uncles.
I can only imagine what you intend to do for your father or the man who cares and protects you as a father.

I love watermelon so much. As hydrating the body, watermelon gives me a break from normal crystal-clear water. I bet you also get bored drinking water at times.

Include milk in your meal plan, as it is good for the body. Milk is rich in Calcium which a mineral that is essential for bone formation and teeth strength. Milk can be categorized into two: whole milk and low- fat milk or fat free milk. Both of them are rich in calcium and other essential nutrients. However, low fat free milk has less calories and less saturated fat. It may not have the best taste of flavor but is good for a healthier you.
You can take milk at any time of the day; there is no rule for having this drink. While having cereals breakfast, opt for fat free milk. You can also have a glass of low fat milk in the day after an activity; this will replenish your energy. Hint: raw milk may be harmful to your health. Ensure you pasteurize milk before taking it to avoid microorganisms that can pose serious health risks. Pasteurization is the process for destroying harmful bacteria by heating the milk to a specific temperature over a specific period. Note: Pasteurization does not degrade milk’s nutritional but it kills harmful bacteria and save lives for people. Pasteurized milk is therefore, healthier than raw milk.

Make daddy happy and healthy on this Father’s day at your home from morning to evening by ensuring that he eats a balanced diet. It is great to prepare him a meal that likes but keep count of the healthy benefits that he will ingest on this day. With a balanced meal, incorporate a fruit at the end of a meal. this way, he will have both vitamins, minerals and fiber from fresh fruits and vegetables.
Here are a few suggestions:
At the breakfast table, add a fruit -like a banana or any other fruit of choice- that he would eat after having breakfast. Alternatively, prepare a fresh fruit juice or a smoothie that he would take down after breakfast.
For most people they will result to going out to a restaurant and dine with family or father on this day. Take a different by preparing your father a home-made meal. As the day proceeds, you may feel a little bit hungry or the need to nibble something. Other than having sweets or crisps or french fries to satisfy the urge to nibble, make him a get some vegetable and make him a tasty salad.
The day is coming to an end and before you know it, it’s time to have dinner. Keep daddy healthy with a balanced diet full of nutrients and remember to incorporate fiber into the meal as well. After dinner, is dessert time. On this special day, treat him to a fresh fruit juice that will wash down dinner to his tummy.
