We all have dreams and aspirations in life, however, there are days that we may not be favoring this. On those, ‘low days’ one may experience negative feelings and emotions or behave contrary to the dreams. It is normal to feel down, which may obscure the process through which we achieve the dreams.
On a race track there may be stones, ideally, you shall skip or avoid the stones so that your running. After passing by these stones, running becomes easy and you will get to the finish line happy and fulfilled. You can all relate to this racing track in your life. In the same, the race track is your life and the stones are the feelings, behaviors. The ‘stones steer you away from or off the track.
Since the ‘stones’ are hindrances; devices methods to either get the stones out of your way or circumnavigate them. This way your pathway is clear and you shall move forward towards achieving your dreams and goals.
Get rid of all negative items, self-destructive behaviors and move toward to your race’s finish line.

Firstly, what are they?
Generally, a wet wipe looks like a normal tissue however it is infused with some liquid that is used for cleaning purposes. Many water companies have associated them to sewer blockages. This is because they do not break down when flushed down the toilet.
However, I feel it is a necessity to always carry a pack in my bag every day. Here are 4 reasons why wet wipes are essential;

There are specific wet wipes that have been approved as baby care products. they are used for wiping the baby’s bottom more while changing the diapers; leaving them fresh, clean and soft.
I have been buying various brands of wet wipes. I use wet wipes on my hands, face even as a make remover and before and after meals. Wet wipes are not only for babies but for everyone. For your next grocery shopping, pick up a pack of wet wipes for yourself and family.
While buying wet wipes, be on the look for quality products. This is because low-quality products are available on the shelves which in turn may cause rashes and skin irritation especially for those with sensitive skin and also babies.

Today is a bitter and sweet day; it is the 11th of September and it brings chills to my spine. It has been 16years since the tragic 9/11. On this day the tragic events led to the death of several people both physically, emotionally and mentally. This is the bitter truth concerning this particular day. It is during this time that many have lost property, loved ones and also those that have lost their lovely and caring pets due to the Hurricane Harvey and Hurricane Irma. This is heart breaking.
However, there is a sweet thing that emanates from this incident. Instead of crying and moaning of the befallen, let us celebrate the heroes. Those who lost their lives on this fateful day are living as heroes and heroines in our hearts. Let’s come together and honor heroes. Let’s talk about heroes in all of us. Let’s love and be kind to one another.
The bonding as a nation and the entire world after the tragic events of 9/11. This bonding has become the basis of kindness and love for one another. It is not about how hard you fall, but how smart you get up and remain standing. 9/11 is not all about the events that happened in the US but we all have experienced those down moments that may or may not have been similar to this (9/11). let us dust off ourselves and triumph and remain standing. Let us uplift, love and be kind to one another.
While living a healthier lifestyle, food and exercise have a role to play. Most people ignore the importance of mental health. In this posts, I shall be shedding light on what mental health entails, importances and tips on have been healthy mentally.
What is mental health?
According to the World Health Organization (WHO), mental health is a state of well-being in which every individual realizes his or her own potential can cope with the normal stresses of life, can work productively and fruitfully, and is able to make a contribution to her or his community.
Mental health includes our emotional, social and psychological well being. mental health problems occur as a result of imbalances in the either emotional, social and psychological well being. in the incident of a headache, we are quick to a pain killer without taking a deep thought of the why. At times, a headache is a symptom as opposed to it being the real problem. for example, having an abrupt headache can be associated with a hit on the head or prolonged stress. the later touches on mental health.
Signs and Symptoms of Mental Health Problems
- Racing heart beat
- Lack of motivation
- Feeling really down
- Lack of self-esteem
- Unable to sleep or insomnia
- Difficult breathing
- Over worrying
- Racing thoughts *at times irrelevant
In addition to other health issues, mental health needs to be aired more than it does. people should also be aware of Stigma against mental health problems and stop the stigmatization.
Mental health is just as important as physical health.

A new month is an opportunity to explore new things as well take stock of what we have and the activities we have undertaken. Take time to reflect and evaluate August, what went well, bad and what you want to continue, stop and probably the pending matters. This way you will be on track with your goals and aspirations for 2017.
As we match into September, do not be too caught up with fulfilling your goals for the month. Be on the look for opportunities which can either be fruitfully in the short term or long term.

Sugary and carbonated drinks are considered a health hazard. This also includes diet soda, which typically does not add any beneficial nutrients to your body.
This is one of the most obvious effects of drinking soda. Fructose corn syrup which is high in sodas has been linked to obesity.
Weakens your teeth
Drinking soda as your preferred beverage may lead to tooth decay, dental cavities, and bone damage. The sugar coats your teeth and gums for a while and breaks down the enamel (the outer cover of the teeth) paving way for tooth rotting.
Too much sugar drains the body cells of water which leads to dehydration. Caffeinated drinks also have natural diuretic properties which are characterized by numerous trips to the bathroom.
Your skin beats out
The high sugar content in sodas interrupts your insulin levels and contributes to skin break out and acne format. The sugar also dehydrates the skin leaving it vulnerable to harsh conditions. Diet soda is no exception; they are acidic which also interrupts your PH levels leading to dull skin.
Weakens your bones
Your bones become brittle and low in density, especially when drinking Cola. The phosphoric acid in sodas leeches calcium which increases the risk of fractures and later osteoporosis.
Despite the dangers of drinking soda, a small amount once in a while is not harmful. With lots of water, your body will be in symphony ; your PH levels are balanced, your skin will be glowing and you will have healthy teeth. Moderation is key.
Since I can remember, I have had tea for breakfast with either buttered or toasted bread or muffins or scones (For recipe).
I can say it is a family thing more so a Kenyan thing. In my country, Kenya, tea is more than just a beverage. Despite the season or weather, you will also find someone having a cup of tea at home or a coffee house. Tea, hot tea is ENERGISING after a long day at work. Tea people together; tea party. Catching up with friends, going out on a date, it’s all about the tea.
Quick Fact: Did you know that the 4 O’ Clock tea was originally by Queen Alexandra. This has also been a ritual in my family. It is a break between lunch and dinner to catch up, mainly over the weekend, and also refuel the body.

Whether you are a starter or a regular runner, you stand to reap from running benefits such as a healthier and longer life and clearing your mind. Running can also give you great results without having to subscribe to your local gym.
Being on the running track, you need to take caution at all times. Here are tips that
- Walk before the run
Walking enables you to warm and get ready for the run. Walking lowers the risk of injuries as the body especially the joints are being prepared for an activity. Consistent walking and increase in speed
- Book it
Just like any other activity, it is great to book your running time on your calendar. This helps you be more organized and block your calendar. Follow a training schedule and plan out your runs/jogs.
- Days off
Your body needs a day or two to rest and re-energize. The ‘rest days’ enable you to recover from the cramps. On your rest days, you can be lightly active through walks or take a swim.
- Gear up
The right gear ensures that your body assets are free from injuries. Get to a sports store and get yourself a proper pair of running shoes. You may seek advice from store personnel, however, be cautious as some of them may persuade you to purchase unfit running shoes. For ladies, a properly fitting sports bra is handing while running to keep the babies from bouncing and disrupting your running.
- Take a breath of life
As you run, remember to always take a breath. Should you feel short of breath, slow down and a take breath. BUT do not abruptly stop, this will be like shutting down your body at once. Breath to relax and refill your energy box.
